Art Can Heal.
Stories Can Change the World.
Visionary Survivor Creative Fund empowers survivors of abuse to transform trauma into boldly courageous art—healing themselves and inspiring others.
What We Do
We are a survivor-led nonprofit that funds and supports creative projects by survivors of abuse. Our mission is to break cycles of silence through radical storytelling, community, and healing. From art exhibitions to film challenges, we help survivors turn their pain into purpose—and share it with the world.
Esmé's vision
Hi, I’m Esmé Bianco—actress, artist, and survivor. After years of activism and sharing my own story, I founded Visionary Survivor Creative Fund to create space for others like me. I believe that storytelling through art can disrupt trauma and ignite real social change. Let me show you how.
Be Part of the Change
The Challenge
Abuse survivors
need to be heard
Victims of abuse, regardless of their gender, age, or background, often face a dual challenge: first, the pain and trauma of their experiences, and second, the profound difficulty in having their stories acknowledged and amplified. This issue poses a significant obstacle to fostering empathy, understanding, and ultimately, social change.
Representation of experience matters
Despite #metoo, limited representation of abuse survivors in mainstream media and the arts perpetuates a culture of silence and contributes to the cycle of abuse, stigmatization, and victim-blaming. Without a platform to share their stories and experiences, survivors remain hidden in the shadows.
Current systems perpetuate silence
Too many of the conventional gatekeepers to financial support and opportunities within the industry have been deeply ingrained in the very system we seek to reform. To effect lasting change within these problematic systems, it is imperative to challenge the gatekeepers of financial support and decision making within the arts.
Solutions
Empowerment through funding
We support abuse survivors by providing grants and financial backing for their creative projects. By alleviating financial barriers, we enable survivors to focus on their creative work, fostering self expression and healing through art. We believe that survivors, who have already suffered enough economic injury, should not have to choose between supporting themselves and making bold creative choices.
Amplification of survivor voices
We understand the significance of representation in the media and the arts. By funding a wide range of creative projects, we help survivors share their stories with a broader audience, challenge societal norms, and advocate for change. We aim to provide distribution channels to those who have been sidelined by traditional media institutions, with a focus on reaching demographics most vulnerable to abuse.
Community building and support
Our non-profit serves as a community hub, using our creative industry expertise to connect survivors with like-minded individuals, mentors, and resources to aid in project development and provide emotional support. We aim to establish an in-house media production company that will allow us to channel resources back into our fund, while creating a thoughtful community of new industry leaders with an aligned ethos to create impact and change.
